One of the key features of FreightExchange is the ability for customers to bring their own carrier accounts to the platform. If you have an existing account and rates with Direct Freight Express (DFE), you can easily bring your own accounts across to FreightExchange to receive quotes, print labels and book and track shipments along side our other broker carriers.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Part 1: Get your API Key
When looking to set up a new account with Direct Freight Express you will need to contact their IT department and advise them that you are looking to despatch your account through FreightExchange. The Direct Freight Express IT Team can be contacted at support@directfreight.com.au. Please cc ops@freightexchange.comn.au in your email.
Your email should be as follows:
Hi Direct Freight IT Team,
I am beginning to set up my account <insert Account Number> to be dispatched through my new FMS, FreightExchange. Can you please advise what the Site Code should be for my account?
Once this email has been sent you would then go through and apply for a tracking API key. This is done through the Direct Freight Portal under the Developer Center option:
- Log in to the Direct Freight system
- Click on the Developer Centre link
- Follow the instructions to generate the API key. The key will then be sent through to you within 1-2 business days.
Once the Direct Freight team responds with the site code and you have your API Key, you can complete step 2 below.
Part 2: Set-up your BYO Carrier Account in FreightExchange
Follow the instructions in our How To Connect Your BYO Carrier Accounts help article to connect your account to FreightExchange.
Once all the above steps are done, you can proceed to book your shipments without your rates being loaded. If you would prefer to upload your rates, then please share the rate card with support@freightexchange.com.au
