How To Cancel a Quote or Booking in FreightExchange

FreightExchange is an integrated solution and cancellations are communicated to all carriers automatically.


Important Notes:

  • Timely Cancellations: It's best to cancel a job at least one day before the scheduled pickup date to avoid potential fees.
  • Same-Day Cancellations: While you can request a same-day cancellation, it may not always be possible or guaranteed, and you might incur charges.
  • Carrier Communication: The system handles the communication with the carrier, but whether the cancellation is ultimately permitted after manifesting depends on the specific carrier's policies.  

    The following carriers allow booking cancellation from the Track page as long as there are no tracking events showing freight has already traveled:
    • Border Express
    • Click and Collect
    • CNL
    • Direct Couriers
    • Do All Deliveries
    • Emerald Freight Services
    • Flex
    • Great Southern Courier
    • Gulati Transport
    • ShipXL
    • SN Transport


Cancelling Your Booking Overview

To cancel a quote/booking in different stages, follow these steps:

A. Booking has not been created. Quote is available at the Quote page:

  1. Go to your Quote page and search for the quote you want to cancel.
  2. Click on the three dots button for the specific quote and select "Delete Quote". To delete multiple quotes, simply check the boxes next to the quotes you wish to remove, or select the "Select All" option in the upper left corner.
  3. A pop-up will appear, click on "Delete Quotes" to confirm the cancellation.


Note: Cancelled quotes are not saved under your account, so you can get a new quote in the future if needed.


B. Booking is at the Book Page:

  1. Go to your Book page and click on the three dots button for the specific booking.
  2. Select "Cancel Shipment".
  3. A pop-up will ask you to confirm the cancellation, click on "Cancel Shipment" to proceed.


Note: Cancelled bookings will appear under your Track page with a cancelled status.


C. Booking is at the Track page:


    C.1 For bookings allocated to carriers that support cancellation even after job has been manifested:

  1. Go to your Track page and click on the three dots button for the specific booking.
  2. Select "Cancel Shipment".
  3. A pop-up will ask you to confirm the cancellation, click on "Cancel Shipment" to proceed.


    C.2 For bookings allocated to carriers which doesn't support cancellation of manifested jobs:

  1. Go to your Track page and click on the "Need Help" icon for the specific booking you want to cancel.
  2. A pop-up window will appear.
    1. If the freight has not been collected yet, choose "Cancellation Request". Enter a short description of why you need the booking cancelled and click on "Submit".


Important: If the freight has already been collected, the Customer Service team can no longer cancel the booking. You can choose from the options on the drop-down menu and enter a short description or instructions to discuss how you wish to proceed with the booking. A Customer Service representative will be in touch with you to discuss your enquiry.


Step by Step Guide

    C.2 For bookings allocated to carriers which doesn't support cancellation of manifested jobs:

  1. Go to your Track page and click on the "Need Help" icon for the specific booking you want to cancel.


2. A pop-up window will appear.

   2.1 If the freight has not been collected yet, choose "1. Operations Enquiry". Enter a short description of why you need the booking cancelled and click on "Submit".


Important: 

If the freight has already been collected, the Customer Service team can no longer cancel the booking. You can enter a short description or instructions to discuss how you wish to proceed with the booking. A Customer Service representative will be in touch with you to discuss your enquiry.
