FreightExchange gives you the ability to bring your own Carrier Accounts and use your own rates. Though each Carrier Account has the same format, each Carrier requires their own unique set of options and setup.

Step by Step Guide
To connect your BYO carrier account to FreightExchange you need to follow these steps:
- Navigate to Carriers & Accounts
- Click the +Add New button
- In the Carrier Settings popup, select your carrier from the Carrier drop list
- Once you select a Carrier, the specific details to use that carrier will automatically appear
- Complete all relevant details and click save

Using the Carrier Settings popup
The Carrier Settings popup has been configured to
1. Configure the display settings, toggle accounts on and off and to manage all of the carrier details as you wish
2. Gather all of the carrier specific information you need to provide in order to setup and start shipping on your carrier account
Manage Carriers
The carrier settings popup has been configured to request all of the specific information needed to start shipping with each carrier as shown in the table below.
Field | Instructions |
Display Name | You can name this carrier whatever makes sense to your business. |
Services | Select some or all of the available services. |
Account Owner | If you have activated Child Accounts, you can select the relevant Account Owner for each carrier. |
Currency | You can select the right currency for your business and all prices will display in that currency for the carrier you are setting up. |
Cancellation Email | Include the best contact email address for your carrier account so that your team and our operations team can request shipment cancellations. |
Dedupe Rates | If there are multiple services for a carrier and you prefer to return the most suitable and cheapest service only then toggle Dedupe Rates on. |
Configurations | Carrier specific options appear when you choose a carrier from the drop list. |
The carrier settings popup has been configured to request all of the specific information needed to start shipping with each carrier as shown in the table below.
Status | Status Description |
Details Needed | You have not entered all the details needed to activate the carrier. Click on Details Needed to open the pop up and complete the required details. |
Awaiting Carrier | You are still waiting on the carrier to activate your shipping & tracking API integration request. This includes your API key & Password |
Shipping | You are set up and good to go. Your teams can now successfully use your carrier. |
Carrier Specific Configurations
Carrier Specific Configurations will appear on the Carrier Account page once the company and carrier fields have been populated. The specific options are utilised to complete the integration which FreightExchange has with that transport provider. They can include, but are not limited to:
- Consignment Note Prefixes
- API Usernames and Passwords
- Tracking Usernames and Passwords
- Reference Pools

Once all the above steps are done, you can proceed to book your shipments with AusPost and/or Startrack without any rates being loaded. If you would prefer to upload your rates, then please share the rate card with ops@freightexchange.com.au
